My First 5K

We started hosting the 5K 11 years ago as a way to raise money for the foundation. It has grown year after year and we are so thankful that the community still supports us and what we do. There are so many places and races where you can spend your money, so glad that we are still one after over a decade.

Good races attract true runners. They come for the cause, medal, t-shirt and any other “swag” that may be offered. I believe that we have those things and try to keep it fresh for everyone. So by the total number of regular runners we have a good thing going on.

However what surprises us almost every year are the people that come to our race for their first race. They come to us before and after saying thank you for having this, it is helping me get off the couch. Then two, three or four years later they are still coming to run. So I like to believe that by having this race we are inspiring others to make healthy choices. Thank you Martin County and beyond for being there, we appreciate you ALL!
